Percolating the Dew of Heaven

What is the Decalogue stone?

The Decalogue Stone is a large stone (80 tons) located in Los Lunas, New Mexico with a Hebrew inscription. The Hebrew is very ancient form of Paleo-Hebrew. Formal dating hasn’t been performed, but estimation is 500-2000 years old which means an ancient Israelite was in North America sometime after Jesus Christ lived.

The inscription begins with the declaration, “I Am Jehovah who has taken you out of the land.” This statement is reminiscent of the lost tribes of Israel being lead out of the land of Israel. Then the inscription proceeds to give the Ten Commandments or Decalogue. The Ten Commandments would have constituted the most important set of laws for anyone living the law of Moses.

The transliteration is as follows (read right to left):

I AM Jehovah who has taken you out of the land. Thou shall not have any other Gods beside me of Egypt from the house of slaves. Thou shalt not make idols. Thou shall not take the name Jehovah in vain. Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy. Honor thy father and they mother so that your days may be long in the land that your Bod has given you. Thou shall not murder. Thou shall not commit adultery. Thou shall not steal. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shall not desire the wife of your neighbor nor anything that is your neighbors.
